B : I’d like to book three round – trip tickets to Songkhla
on Sunday evening at 7 o’clock. Are seats still available?
บี : ผมต้องการจองตั๋วแบบไป-กลับสงขลา 3 ใบของวันอาทิตย์ 7 โมงเย็น?

เอ : ต้องขอโทษครับ..มีที่นั่งเหลืออยู่แค่ 2 ที่ แต่มีที่นั่งอีก 2-3 ที่ว่างอยู่
สำหรับเที่ยว 9 โมง คุณต้องการไหมครับ?
B : I have to do some important things before nine o’clock.
May I book those two seats and register stand – by list for
another one?
บี : ผมมีเรื่องสำคัญต้องไปทำก่อน 9 โมง อย่างนี้ผมขอจอง 2 ที่นั่ง

A : It depends on your consideration.

B : Then I’d like to take two round trip tickets. How much should I have to pay?

A : One thousand and five hundred Baht, airport tax and insurance fee included.

อธิบายเสริม
ในบทสนทนานี้มีคำศัพท์ที่น่าสนใจ เช่น
* book ปกติเป็นคำนาม แต่ในที่เป็นคำกริยา แปลว่า จองตั๋ว, จองที่ห้อง
* round – trip ticket = ตั้วเดินทางแบบไป-กลับ
* one-way ticket = ตั้วเดินทางแบบไปอย่างเดียว
* a few = 2 – 3 ใช้บอกจำนวน

Somsri : Hello! I’d like to send this package to Thailand.

Clerk : Sure. Would you rather send it by air or ground?
เสมียน : ได้ครับ คุณต้องการส่งมันไปทางอากาศหรือภาคพื้นดินครับ?
Somsri : What is the difference?
สมศรี : แล้ว....ต่างกันอย่างไรค่ะ?
Clerk : It takes up to 60 days to deliver it if it is sent
by ground and about 2 weeks by air.
เสมียน : มันจะใช้เวลาถึง 60 วันที่จะส่งมันถ้ามันถูกส่ง
ทางภาคพื้นดิน แต่ประมาณ 2 สัปดาห์ทางอากาศ
Somsri : Oh, I’d prefer to get it there as soon as possible.
สมศรี : โอ้... ฉันอยากจะส่งมันไปที่นั่นเร็วที่สุดเท่าที่เป็นไปได้
Clerk : Would you like to insure the package?
You can get some money back in case your package gets lost.
เสมียน : คุณต้องการทำประกันพัสดุด้วยหรือเปล่าครับ?

Somsri : Oh, yes, certainly.

สมศรี : 20... ตอนที่ฉันชั่งมาจากที่บ้านมันหนักแค่ 9.2 กิโลกรัมเอง
Clerk : Right, 1 pound is 0.46 kilograms.

Somsri : O.K. How much do I have to pay?

2. คำว่า it ในบทสนทานานี้ทุกตัว หมายถึง package
